Death of Mr. Isham Pair

After about six days illness, Mr. Isham Pair, the father of Rev. H. Pair, died of the la grippe Saturday morning, January 30. He was about 75 years of age. Mr. Pair was a consistent Christian, and a member and a deacon of the Good Hope Baptist Church, Shotwell, N. C. The community has lost a worthy counsellor, the church a true member and deacon, the family a loving and faithful father, and the wife a loving husband. We have all reason to believe that our loss is Heaven’s gain, for his last words were, “Now, I go to my Father.” 

He was buried Sunday, January 31. His funeral was preached at Good Hope Church. Revs. . A. Whitted and Joseph Perry officiated. 

“Mark the perfect man and behold the upright, for the end of that man is peace.
